Stephen King Book Club: The Green Mile

The Green Mile was originally published in 1996 in serial form: as six slim books that each held part of the story. It takes place in 1935 in the death row section of a penitentiary, and features the staff of that section and the inmates who await their turn on the electric chair. It was made into a very good 1999 film starring Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan, Bonnie Hunt and Sam Rockwell.
