For our June 12th meeting, we will discuss the rest of the stories from Hearts in Atlantis: 1966- Hearts in Atlantis, 1983- Blind Willie, 1999- Why We’re in Vietnam, 1999- Heavenly Shades of Night are Falling.
We will read Hearts of Atlantis and the remaining stories for our June meeting. We decided to read The Dead Zone for July. I can't believe we are talking about July!
Hearts in Atlantis was published in 1999 and is a collection of three novellas and two short stories, all of which are connected by their characters and are roughly in chronological order. The stories are loosely autobiographical; in an author's note, King writes that while the places in the book are fictionalized, "Although it is difficult to believe, the sixties are not fictional; they actually happened."
