Black Diamond-Manhattan Canyon Loop (4 miles, 700ft)

This week, let's check out the wildflowers on the other side of Black Diamond. May is a great month for wildflowers, and Black Diamond is a reliable host for many of the later blooming Mariposa Lilies. Along the way, we will stop by the old Rose Hill Cemetery and its many interesting tombstones. The hike will be a total of about 4 miles, with about 700ft elevation gain. Park at the upper parking lot at the very end of Somersville Road. The $5 parking fee is typically waived for non-weekends and non-holidays. If you have the time, bring a lunch for the picnic area at the end of the hike. Poles are helpful, but not necessary, for this hike.

We will hike at an average to slower pace (25-30 mins per mile) so we can enjoy the experience while we get the heart pumping. Please update your RSVP if you cannot attend, so as many people as possible can enjoy this hike.
