The Talk: A Group Discussion Series on Sexuality
Join me in Barcelona every month to discuss everything you never had the chance to learn while growing up in a world where sexual messages are EVERYWHERE yet sex is too taboo to talk about openly.
Facilitated by psychologist and sex therapist, Willow Star. IG @withwillowstar
This event is a safe space for single and partnered folks to share their thoughts, experiences, and questions in a supportive environment. Each month we will be tackling a different theme, from sex ed myths, low libido, and fantasies, to communication, fantasy and toys!
Whether you're curious, confused, or confident about your sexuality, this group discussion series is for you.
WHO ARE THESE EVENTS FOR?
All genders, sexual orientations, relationship styles, single or partnered are welcome. I encourage you to invite partners and friends, or come alone and make new ones while you're here!
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Willow leads the group through a discussion of the most common and harmful mishaps of sex education, how they have impacted our our self-esteem, our sex lives, and the way we relate to our bodies. She will provide plenty of myth-busting examples, while inviting you to share your own experiences, either altogether or in small groups of 2 or 3. It is not mandatory that you share, though it is encouraged!
Since this is not a "TED talk" format, you will be able to connect with others about their experiences, while leaning on Willow as a guide to lead you.
Understanding your sexuality is a lifelong journey and no one expects you to have all the answers. These talks provide a supportive environment in which you realize you are not alone in your doubts, insecurities, fantasies, or experiences.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
We will be on Vibrart's beautiful rooftop, so bring a sweater in case it gets chilly. Wine, water, and a few light snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. You may also want to bring a notebook and pen.
ABOUT ME:
Hi! I’m Willow. My undergrad degree in psychology is from New York University. I hold two masters degrees: one in Sex & Couples Therapy and another in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I’ve been teaching university students in Barcelona for the last 3 years, most notably in my course The Psychology of Human Sexuality.
When I was growing up, there was no talk. I was terrified of tampons and not allowed to read the Twilight books! Now, I'm honored I hold a supportive space for you to share your experiences and doubts without judgment.
