A greater knowledge of new and upcoming web technologies, a chance to meet with like-minded developers, possible networking opportunities, and just generally having fun in the developer playground which is the web.

How did you hear about the group?

Just browsing through Meetup…

What are you? (developer, thinker, designer...)

I'm a front-end developer and sometime web designer, with aspirations of becoming a more general purpose application developer. I work a lot in WordPress, and otherwise attempt to stay up to date with current best practices for web development. Things that make me giddy: the ever-growing adoption of CSS3 in browsers, the semantic and efficiency benefits of HTML5 tags (like all those new input types!), working out solutions to make the web accessible to as many different people and devices as possible, and—of course—the ability to track touch events through JavaScript.

What is interesting more? Hacking together OR Insightful Speakers

I'm currently a freelancing front-end web developer, whose interests range from semantic web practices and *responsible* responsive design, to implementation of touch UI's and the awesome cross-browser capabilities of libraries like jQuery.

What Christopher L. is saying about this Meetup Group

Seems pretty cool so far. This was just my first meetup, but I'm looking forward to attending the next one.
