Session #1: Evaluating AI Systems: A Tester’s Journey with Weights & Biases
With all the hype and noise around AI, it is imperative that as testers we take advantage of this powerful technology that has been provided to us. However, as testers, we also need to test the underlying mechanism to understand, evaluate and measure how good these systems are . A key part of this process is to understand the ML models behind these AI tools. Weights and Biases (WandB) is a platform and Python library for people who love to dig deeper in ML to run experiments, log artifacts, automate hyperparameter tuning, and evaluate performance. WandB enables you to create system evaluations, define custom metrics, use LLMs as judges for tasks like summarization and save data sets that capture different behaviors for analysis. This helps optimize LLM components and track performance at both local and global levels.

With over 12 years of experience in Software Development and Testing, he has worked with a varied range of clients and domains like Fintech, Healthcare, Retirement and Pensions, CRMs to name a few. Rahul is innately passionate about how software systems work and how we can understand it deeply to provide the highest level of quality for a product/system. He loves playing around with code and recently has developed interest in how we can test the models/LLMs that power the platforms that we’re using daily.
