What do a botched surgery, a locked bathroom door, a Cranberries concert, and a third-grade superhero have in common? They all collide in IMGONNAWANNA , a darkly funny solo performance by Jen Rowe. Set in a crumbling Seattle hotel bathroom, the piece follows one woman’s sardonic, unflinching journey to escape the room she’s stuck in, the choices that put her there, and the fear she may never get out. Blending story, character, poetry, movement, and song, IMGONNAWANNA is a raw, comedic meditation on resilience and the absurd ways we fight to stay free when no one is coming to save us.
Returning to Portland this fall straight from performing at The Whitefire Solo Fest and the Hollywood Fringe Festival, IMGONNAWANNA has garnered great reviews and is back for one fun night at The Siren on Mississippi Avenue. Grab a drink, get some dinner, and stroll down to enjoy this hour long show!
After extensive development work in Los Angeles with renowned playwright/actor Lauren Weedman (The People’s Republic of Portland, Hacks, Abbott Elementary, Arrested Development ), Jen Rowe (Grimm, The Librarians ) performs:
IMGONNAWANNA an exploration of being trapped in a bathroom and what it can take to find a way out.
