Zizek's The Sublime Object of Ideology (Pre-Read)

Hosted By

Details
In his first book The Sublime Object of Ideology (1989), Slavoj Žižek explores how ideology shapes our perception of reality, arguing that what we believe to be objective truths are often ideological constructs. He emphasizes the subconscious influence of ideology on our thoughts and actions, exploring the ideological fantasies of wholeness and exclusion which make up human society. Žižek bridges psychoanalysis with Marxist theory, fostering a more nuanced understanding of society and ourselves.
Please read in advance chapters 1 (How Did Marx Invent the Symptom?) and 2 (From Symptom to Sinthome) for the discussion.
The book can be found here.
