Details
To close out the year we will discuss Kant's 1793 essay, "On the common saying: That may be correct in theory, but it is of no use in practice"
This essay is in three parts, each responding to a particular philosopher. The topics range from Kant's general theory of morals to matters of right and cosmopolitanism.
Please read the essay in advance.
Note: Meetings focus on developing a common language and friendship through studying Kant. The host will provide an interpretation of Kant; other interpretations will not be discussed until later in the meeting. Additional interpretations, topics, and questions can be addressed through the Jitsi chat feature.
This work is available online if you google, but is also collected in the Cambridge "Practical Philosophy" collection of Kant's works.
