Sergei Eisenstein's October (1928) revolutionized the art of filmmaking and remains a triumph of Soviet montage. Created to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 1917 October Revolution, the film showcases Eisenstein's signature use of rapid editing, symbolic imagery, and dramatic sequences.
