The "Try Something New" Club

Hey there, fellow curious humans! 👋
Have you ever wanted to try a pottery wheel, whip up a perfect Thai curry, learn the basics of woodworking, or paint a masterpiece while sipping a local Pinot Noir...but you didn't want to go alone or do the research to find a fun class?

Welcome to your new favorite community! The "Try Something New" Club is for anyone in the greater Seattle area who loves the thrill of being a beginner. I want this to be all about stepping outside our comfort zones, learning cool new skills, and making great friends along the way!

The Vibe: Low pressure, high fun. You don’t need to be an artist or a chef to join; you just need an open mind and a desire to have fun!

The Schedule: We'll try to go to at least one main event a month (and more if the group is buzzing!).

The Decision: Every month, I'll throw out a few different workshop options (glassblowing, sushi-making, archery, you name it) and we can vote on what we want to do - but I'm welcome to suggestions too!

The Location: We’ll bounce around the greater Seattle region, all depending where the next great class is being held!

Whether you’re new to the PNW and looking to build a community, a lifelong resident wanting to break out of your routine, or just someone who loves collecting random hobbies - you belong here.

### A Quick Note on Event Costs 💸

We want to keep this club as accessible and cost-effective as possible—trust us, we love a good deal! That being said, learning new skills from local experts, using professional studios, and getting quality materials does require a budget.

Most of the workshops and classes we’ve sourced across Seattle and the Eastside tend to range between $60 and $150 per person, depending on the activity (things like cooking schools or glassblowing require more equipment than a paint night, for example).

How payments work: To keep things simple and fair, everyone will purchase their own ticket directly from the hosting venue. I don't collect any fees or handle ticket sales; I'm simply the coordinator getting us all together, doing the research, and organizing the group so we can experience it as a community!

We’ll always make sure the price is clear well in advance so you can choose the events that best fit your budget.

We would love to organize casual, member-led hangouts where we can learn from each other (and keep costs down to just basic supplies).
