What we’re about
Welcome to a book club for people who love books a little too much. Whether it’s unread paperbacks gathering dust, an ever-growing wish list, or a tsundoku pile starting to look like modern art, you’re in good company. At the Tsundoku Club, we come together monthly to discuss whatever we’ve managed to read—or that half-read paperweight still sitting on the nightstand. So feel free to bring a bit of your bookish guilt and join us for a judgment-free literary chat.

See all- Tokyo Non-Fiction and Fiction Late Mornings — Autumnal Reading (Haruki Murakami)The Waseda International House of Literature, Shinjuku City
Autumn, with its long nights, often invites more time for reading; it’s the perfect excuse to curl up with a good book—or two. As the season turns cozy, this meetup welcomes both non-fiction and fiction alike.
Let’s talk Murakami at a café he named Orange Cat, located in the Haruki Murakami Library.

Fuel your mind while you fuel up on coffee — all while soaking in Haruki Murakami’s muse.
Once or twice a month in Western Tokyo (this time, closer to Central Tokyo), we gather on a late weekend morning to share what we've been reading — no assigned books, no pressure.
For this meetup, each participant gets 6–15 minutes (depending on group size) to talk about a book by or about Haruki Murakami, followed by a few quick questions or comments before moving on to the next.
