Tokyo Non–Fiction Late Mornings — Theme–Free

Details
Note: This is a late morning edition of Tokyo Non-Fiction Mornings, not the regular early morning meetup.
Fuel your mind while you fuel up on coffee (and a slice of cake if you’ve got a sweet tooth).
Once or twice a month in Western Tokyo, we gather on a weekend morning to share what we've been reading—no assigned books, no pressure. Just real reads, real ideas, and real caffeine (non-caffeinated drinks are welcome too).
Each participant gets 7–15 minutes (depending on the group size) to talk about a non-fiction book, followed by a couple of quick questions or comments before we move on to the next.
***
📅When: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Sunday, August 17
📍Where: HARBS (B1), atré Kichijoji
🎙️Format: Round-robin sharing—one person at a time
📚Books: Any non-fiction topic—no set theme
🗣️Language: English (all are welcome, including non-native speakers)

Rough Plan:
11:00–11:05 — Grab a table and coffee. Note that drinks are a little costly.
The café opens at 11:00 AM and has about 70 seats. Try to arrive just before opening so we can head in together—it's easy to miss us if you arrive late, because the place fills up quickly.
11:05–11:10 — Quick introductions
11:10–12:00 — Book sharing

Just so you know:
- Coffee’s on you.
- Conversation’s on us.

Getting to HARBS from Kichijoji Station:
(It takes 1 minute if you know where it is, but can feel like forever if you don’t.)
Check the map below first and look for Herbs on the left-hand side. It's just a short walk from the center of the floor.

Step-by-Step Directions:
- Exit via the Central Gate (中央改札): If you're using JR, try to exit through the Central Gate. The South (Park) and West Gates are also possible, but they can be confusing if you're unfamiliar with the station. If you're coming from the Keio Line, head toward the North Exit.
- Head to the North Exit (北口): Don’t go past the North Exit. Walk toward it—atré connects directly to the station. The South (Park) and West Exits also work but are trickier to navigate.
*Go to the 1st Floor: JR ticket gates are on the 2nd floor, and the Keio Line gates are on the 3rd floor. Make your way down to the 1st floor. - Enter atré: Look for a glass-door entrance to atré on the 1st floor, a 15- to 30-foot distance from the North Exit. It might not have large signs, but the glass doors have tiny white letters that say "atré," which can help you identify it.
- Navigate to Basement Level 1: Take the escalator or stairs down. You can use the floor map (linked above) or find one on-site—information boards with maps are located throughout the building. HARBS (ハーブス) is shop number B019 in the Second City (2番街) area. If you're unsure, feel free to ask a staff member—they’re usually happy to help.
