The Village Green Noord
A regular gathering for those seeking community, ritual and belonging.
More and more of us are talking about it - many of us have found ourselves missing something we can't quite name.
Perhaps we grew up with church, temple, or another faith community and miss the sense of connection, rhythm, and belonging, even if we no longer share the beliefs.
Perhaps we didn't grow up with those kinds of structures or traditions at all, but we envy those who did.
Perhaps we've moved cities, made a huge career change, become parents, or simply realised that modern life can feel disconnected from what matters most. Completely disconnected from the natural world and the simple rhythms that our ancestors built their lives around.
The Village Green Noord is an experiment in rebuilding the village, right here in Amsterdam.
We are creating a warm, inclusive community for people of all beliefs and backgrounds who are looking for a place to gather, reflect, celebrate life's seasons, and build meaningful connections with others.
Some of us are religious. Some are spiritual. Some are agnostic, atheist, questioning, or simply curious. All are welcome.
Together, we hope to explore what community can look like beyond dogma:
•Shared rituals and seasonal celebrations
•Reflection and conversation
•Time in nature
•Family friendly gatherings
•Music, stories, creativity, and wonder
•Mutual support and genuine connection
•Potlucks, picnics, and shared meals
This is not a church.
But it may be for people who are missing out on some of what churches do well.
This is not a religious group.
But it may be for people who feel that life is richer when we make space for meaning, gratitude, mystery, and connection.
Individuals, families and children are all warmly welcome. We believe community is strongest when generations gather together rather than living separate lives.
Most importantly, this community is being co-created. We don't have all the answers, and we're not arriving with a finished blueprint. We are gathering people who feel the same longing for a stronger social fabric and want to help build something meaningful together.
