About us
Raising special children—together.
Welcome to The Village San Antonio—a community for parents raising children with special needs who are looking for connection, understanding, and support here in San Antonio.
Many of us are navigating this journey without a strong local support system—balancing therapies, routines, and everyday life while carrying a lot on our own. It can feel isolating, even when we’re doing everything we can.
We’re often told “it takes a village to raise a child.”
But for our children, it takes an even more intentional, compassionate, and understanding village.
This is that space.
🌿 What to expect
Casual, low-pressure meetups (parks, coffee, walks)
A space where you can talk—or just sit and be
Parents who understand without needing an explanation
Opportunities to share resources and real-life experiences
🤍 Who this group is for
Parents of children with special needs (any diagnosis or stage)
Parents who may feel isolated or without local support
Those looking for both social connection and emotional support
There’s no pressure to show up a certain way.
No expectations. No judgment.
Come as you are—whether you need conversation, community, or simply a place where you don’t feel alone.
🌱 A note from the founder
This group was created out of a real need for community.
Like many of you, I’ve experienced what it’s like to raise a child without a strong support system nearby.
So instead of waiting for a village to appear—
I decided to help create one.
Can’t wait to meet you all,
Amani Marie 🤍
