Day 1 - Saturday, Nov. 28, 2026: Cologne - Arrival in Cologne, the famous Cathedral City
Arrival at Cologne Germany CGN airport at 10:35am on Turkish Airlines #1671. Transfer by our private coach to the hotel in the heart of Cologne’s historic center. After a bit of time to freshen up, we’ll meet the guide for a walking tour to explore the beautiful old town, visit the towering 515 foot tall Cologne Cathedral (with included entrance ticket), and learn about the history of this city dating back to its Roman origins. As you’ll have worked up a thirst, once the history and sightseeing portion of the tour ends, we’ll then embark on a brewery tour of the famous Kolsch beer hall-brewery scene visiting several traditional spots like Früh am Dom and Sion and Bierhaus am Rhein while the guide entertains you with humorous stories and anecdotes about the city’s legendary “liquid gold”. During the tour you’ll get to enjoy an included Kolsch beer. We’ll finish up the tour at the Christmas market so you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening exploring or head back to the hotel to relax.

Day 2 - Sunday, Nov. 29, 2026: Cologne - Free Morning | Afternoon Rhine River Cruise | Afternoon, Evening free time at Christmas Markets
Today we’ll have a leisurely start to the day and embark on an early afternoon Rhine River cruise featuring live holiday music. You’ll admire the sights of the city from the water and enjoy a gluhwein (hot wine) on board (cruise lasts approx. 1.5 hours). After the cruise finishes we’ll head back to the Cathedral Christmas Market, and beyond to the Heinzels Wintermärchen (The House Elves’ Market) in the Old Town. This market is famous for its artisanal stalls and a spectacular outdoor ice-skating rink that winds through the historic square. Tonight we’ll enjoy a traditional Kolsch dinner and beer in a famous city center beerhall.

Day 4 - Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2026: Travel from Cologne to Strasbourg France | Enjoy an afternoon in Heidelberg German on the way to Strasbourg France
After breakfast, we’ll depart Cologne for the "Capital of Christmas" Strasbourg, France. Along the route our group will enjoy a few hours of free time in the charming medieval town of Heidelberg, Germany. Famous for its 14th century university, hilltop Heidelberg Castle that overlooks the old town & Neckar River, and its world famous Christmas markets. After several hours of exploring this charming town and enjoying lunch on your own, our group will travel on to Strasbourg, France. Upon Arrival to Strasbourg, we check-in to the hotel and enjoy a free evening.

Day 5 - Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2026: Strasbourg - Alsatian Charm and Christmas Tradition
Following breakfast we’ll meet the guide for a walking tour of Strasbourg’s fascinating old town and city center passing sights such as the Place Kléber, Note-Dame cathedral and its 466 foot tower, the covered bridges and the La Petite France district with its traditional timbered houses. At the end of the tour we’ll finish at Place Broglie and the main Christmas market which is one of the oldest in Europe (dating to 1570). Here you can try the local Vin Chaud (hot wine) and Bredele (traditional Alsatian Christmas cookies) and more..

Day 7 - Friday, Dec. 4, 2026: Fairytale Colmar and Arrival to Basel
Following breakfast we’ll depart to Switzerland with a stop in arguably the most beautiful small town in France, a fairytale like Colmar. You’ll have time to wander the charming streets, explore the “Little Venice” district, and of course Colmar’s famous Christmas market. After several hours of exploration and time for lunch, we’ll get back on the road and cross the Swiss border and continue to Basel. Arrival, check-in to hotel and free evening.

Day 8 - Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026: Basel’s Old Town and “Best in Europe” Christmas Market
Following breakfast we’ll meet the guide for a walking tour of Basel’s old town, winding along the Rhine River with the towering Basler Munster (cathedral) and exploring Christmas markets at Barfüsserplatz and Münsterplatz and more. Basel’s famous Christmas markets have been recently voted “Best in Europe” noted for their beauty, food and festive atmosphere, and known for the Gluhwein (hot wine) and the famous and delicious Chäsbängel—a hollowed-out baguette filled with hot cheese fondue) and more. Following the end of the tour, you have the rest of the day and evening free.

Day 9 - Sunday, Dec. 6, 2026: Basel - Free Day and Farewell Swiss Dinner
Today is a free day to enjoy your last day in Basel and the Christmas markets.
Tonight we’ll get together for a final farewell dinner at a “Basler Beiz" or “Stuube” (the most traditional dinner establishments that Basel is famous for) of local Swiss specialties and say “auf wiedersehen” to Basel and Switzerland over drinks and shared memories.
