You have no idea how excited and happy we are to be offering A Write & a Pint now to the East Midlands! 🍻
Join us on Wednesday, 26th November from 7pm to 9:30pm for this Once Upon a Pub event, and try your hand at writing a new novel! 🖋️
This session will be hosted by writer, facilitator, and literature lover, Sean Bennett, who is the founder of A Write & a Pint.
Sean is a BIG fan of all manner of forms (novels, short fiction, poetry, screenplays) and has worked as a copywriter and editor for some years, with clients like Oxford University Press, ETH Zurich, and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue.
In this workshop, you’ll:
- 📖 Explore excerpts from Arundhati Roy, Toni Morrison, and Charles Dickens
- 💬 Read together and discuss what makes a great character.
- 💡 Create your own characters
- ✍️ Draft a scene or two to take home and edit (or be proud of, as is!).
This workshop will be held in the basement room at Barley Twist, so we'll be all alone, with no disturbances. 🍷
Whoever you are, we'd love you to come and join us.
When you arrive, please feel free to buy yourself a drink at the bar, then come and join us in private area where we'll have our own space and say hello to some new, friendly faces before we begin. 🤝
No experience of creative writing is necessary.
No pressure to read your work in front of the group.
What to bring:
- Your favourite writing tools! Notebook, pen, laptop, whatever it may be.
- Just yourself!
