About us

The Way of Tea Study Circle is a space for those interested in the quiet, disciplined practice of the Japanese tea ceremony. Whether you are a student currently enrolled in a formal school or someone who has long admired the art from afar, this group is intended to be a place where we can share our experiences, ask questions, and refine our movements. Our meetings are simple and focused, centering on the shared appreciation of tea, the utensils, and the seasonal themes that define each gathering.

We meet regularly to sit together and practice the procedural steps of temae, while also discussing the underlying philosophy of the way of tea. This is not a social club for quick cups of tea, but rather a study circle for those willing to commit to the slow, iterative process of learning. If you are looking for a supportive environment to practice your service or simply want to deepen your understanding of this meditative tradition, we would be glad to have you join our circle.
