Please follow the written directions as the map may be incorrect.

Let's do this hike again as the waterfall should be flowing nicely.

From the Kanan Rd trailhead, we'll jump on the Backbone Trail for a cruise down into Newton Canyon. On our way there, we'll cross the creek, pass under an oak canopy, and come out into an opening. At the opening, look toward the sandstone formations in the distance, and we may see a flow of water from Upper Newton Falls.

Once we hit the fire road we will go up for one-half mile to get a total of about 6 miles with about 1000'+ total elevation gain.
