Sulphur Mountain’s Majesty
Details
This will probably be the last day we can do this hike until winter because it is getting hotter. There is a new restaurant in Oak View for lunch, Noa's. This hike goes up Sulpher Road through petroleum-scented oak forest, through the cattle grazing ranch land at the top to the overlook above the town of Oak View. We’ll have spectacular views of the Ojai Valley, Lake Casitas, and the mountains to the north. Our gently-sloping route will be approximately 6 miles, with about 500’ of elevation.
Parking is limited on Sulphur Mountain Road, and it's well outside our typical hiking area, so carpooling is encouraged!
Lunch afterwards at Noa's Cafe, a mile north on 33, on the right. (formerly J&M Cafe)
Our usual restrictions apply - no plus-ones; no dogs; only show up if you’re on the “Attending” list.
