8 am Start. Upper Sycamore to Danielson Monument ~ Intermediate Hike

This out and back hike is about 7 miles with 1400 feet of elevation gain. Starting early will help to avoid the heat and hopefully we will have a breeze. The hike drops down into Sycamore Canyon, crosses the bridge, then follows the stream along Upper Sycamore over a few dry water crossings to the "Big Oak Tree" intersection. We then climb the Danielson fire road for some fantastic views. At the upper end we’ll visit the the Danielson Monument. We return retracing our path to the Oak Tree along the creek, up to the grasslands and chaparral, returning to the parking lot.
