Rosewood Trail to Angel Vista - Gentler Intermediate

The hike begins near the beginning of Regal Oak Ct. on the lower Rosewood Trail, a dirt trail heading up a shaded ravine at the base of the mountains, and continues to the usual Rosewood trail. Rosewood trail presents a clear view over the 101 Freeway carving up the Conejo Valley. This is a preview of the panorama to come at Angel Vista, and the view grows larger as you hike higher up the mountain. At the top, we will take a brief break at the picnic table to enjoy the magnificent panoramic viewpoints that Angel Vista offers, the Santa Monica Mountains in a coastal area including the Boney Mountains, Sandstone Peak and the rocky crown of the Santa Monicas with Conejo Valley, the Oxnard Plains and (on a clear day) a couple of the Channel Islands.
Then, we will continue to hike another .5 mile (optional) and turn around to return to our cars.

This hike is about 5-6 miles with an elevation gain of approximately 900-1100 feet.

Directions: From the 101 Freeway take Ventu Park Rd. south, turn right on Lynn Rd. and left on Regal Oak.
