The bridge is back! We have a small window of opportunity to visit MASH without rockhopping the creek or bushwacking the mustard. We will enter MCSP on the Yearling Trail and then jump onto the Deer Leg trail which connects with the Overlook Trail. The Overlook Trail winds through a rich chaparral "forest", climbing up and over the ridge along Mulholland Hwy with panoramic views of upper and lower Malibu Creek, finally delivering us to Crags Road. From Crags Road we will visit the forested end of Century Lake at Century Dam. We then head back to Crags Road and the beautiful riparian trail to MASH. We will complete our western tour of MCSP by returning to the Yearling Trail via the Cage Trail. This hike clocks in at 6 miles, 600' gain.

When I scouted this route on Sunday, all of the trails were reasonably cleared of brush but I would not recommend shorts due to some narrow areas of "single track" trail. Also, there are some rocky spots (trekking poles might be helpful if you normally use them).
