Space Mountain Through The Back Door - Intermediate with Options

Our route will start at the neighborhood Lynn Oaks Park, traverse the very quiet Spring Canyon, then climb Space Mountain. We'll cross back west under Rasnow Peak before turning around and retracing our steps. If you stick to that route, this is a 6.7 mile, 1100' gain and loss hike. However, if you'd prefer, you could easily continue to Angel Vista (8 mile total), or turn around at the top of Space Mountain (5 mile total) instead. Here's a GaiaGPS route map.

In some climbs / descents, the trail has some loose rock – please wear appropriate hiking shoes or boots.

DIRECTIONS:
Exit Ventura Fwy (101) at Ventu Park Road, and travel south .5 miles to Lynn Road, then jog left to South Capitan Street, the second right-hand turn. The park is ahead on the right; park on South Capitan or Poplar Crest Avenue.

Please be nice; avoid turning around in residents’ driveways if at all possible.
