In this meet-up, we will discuss episode's seven through eleven of James Joyce modernist novel, ULYSSES.
Given its length and density, we will cover ULYSSES over five separate meet-ups (part one having already past). The novel is divided into eighteen episodes, each loosely corresponding to figures from Homer's, The Odyssey. We’ll break them up as follows (page counts based on the Gabler Edition):
June 1: Episodes 7–11 (“Aeolus”–“Sirens”) ~144 pages
June 15: Episodes 12–14 (“Cyclops”–“Oxen of the Sun") ~ 120 pages
June 29: Episode 15 (Circe) ~ 170 pages
July 13: Episodes 16–18 (“Eumaeus”–“Penelope”) ~142 pages
