In this meet-up, we will discuss the first six episodes of James Joyce modernist novel, ULYSSES.

Given its length and density, we will cover ULYSSES over four separate meet-ups. The novel is divided into eighteen episodes, each loosely corresponding to figures from Homer's, The Odyssey. We’ll break them up as follows (page counts based on the Gabler Edition):

May 18: Episodes 1–6 (“Telemachus”–“Hades”) ~96 pages
June 1: Episodes 7–11 (“Aeolus”–“Sirens”) ~144 pages
June 15: Episodes 12–15 (“Cyclops”–“Circe”) ~291 pages
June 29: Episodes 16–18 (“Eumaeus”–“Penelope”) ~142 pages

We will be meeting at the following location:

Romanella Cucina Romana
3055 Clairemont Dr
San Diego, CA 92117

We have reserved a private room with a limit of 13 spots, so please sign up in order to secure a seat.

You are NOT obligated to purchase food or drink. Please, at the very least, enjoy our company and our (mostly coherent) rabble.
