The Word Party: weekly drop-in writing group

THE WORD PARTY is a weekly drop-in workshop offering a comfortable, friendly environment for writers of all levels. It’s also an opportunity to meet and connect with interesting, like-minded people.
Loosely inspired by the work of Julia Cameron (“The Artist’s Way”) and Natalie Goldberg (“Writing Down the Bones”), it uses a variety of in-class writing games and exercises to jumpstart the creative process, helping to generate what’s come to be known as “flash fiction”*-- short stories of 1,000 words or less. After each segment, participants have the option of sharing their new writing with the group.
THE WORD PARTY is a flexible, affordable resource for writers of fiction, creative non-fiction, journal-keepers, poets, dramatists, songwriters, memoirists, even comedians -- anyone who enjoys writing and creativity.
MONDAY EVENINGS, 7-9 PM, $10-40, sliding scale. Refreshments provided.
