The Write Place is back on Meetup! I can't wait to get back in the groove of things, see familiar faces, and welcome new members to our engaging, moving free writes.
**This is a group where we share and talk about our writing. If you are looking for a group solely based on content, technicalities, or feedback, there are lots of other writing-focused groups in Tucson 😊**
Come join other folks in the community and make new friends by engaging and sharing stories through free-writing! No experience in writing? No problem! This is a group meant to bring people together.
How it Works:
At each meeting we use a random word generator to choose a few words. This can be chosen by the meeting host, or it can be a group effort!
We set a timer for three to five minutes, and you write whatever comes to mind regarding that word. It can be anything you would like it to be, but the point is to allow the feeling of the word to flow to your fingertips as you write and not overthink it.
If you would like to share your writing with the group, wonderful! If not, that’s okay, too. This group is meant to build community through stories, and sometimes we just need a little nudge to get our subconscious brains flowing. This isn't meant to be a place for feedback or critique on your writing, just a place to dig into the power of our thoughts on paper, discussing together what that can help us understand about ourselves and the world around us.
This group is a safe space for those who need it. We welcome allies and folks who align with our values! This means that if you exhibit any signs of harassment, prejudice, misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, bigotry, and/or zealotry, you will be asked to leave the group and not return.
