OnlineThe Write Place is a mentored online writing space, where writers of every level can come together for support, community and accountability, while carving out 2 hours of protected writing time.
It’s a perfect space to get your writing done, break through the block, find your flow and meet like-minded people. And unlike many other co-writing spaces, we use the first 30 mins before the 2-hour write to discuss a different aspect of practice, process and problems!
We have poets, novelists, people coming to journal, screenwriters, memorists, nature writers, writers of flash fiction, Substack writers…
There are regular sessions online (in term time):

All sessions are on Zoom (in school term times). All timings are UK time.
Fees
£15 per session (block booking rate also available). Concessions £10.
PLEASE NOTE
We are a small, supportive group that grows organically and slowly, therefore we only add one new writer per session to keep the group feeling a friendly, known place. Hence the numbers of places set to one below - please contact Kate for more information about places and space.
What happens?
For the first 15 minutes of the session, we come together for a brief and light chat to say hello and check in, we then have a short discussion or a prompt based on a theme relevant to the group. We then set our intentions for the writing session and write for 2 hours, (cameras on - if we like – microphones off). We then check in with each other at the end of the session (and sometimes people might want to share a little of what they are working on – but that is not obligatory, and many don’t).
Who is the host?
It is hosted and mentored by Kate Oldfield. Kate has worked in publishing for over 20 years – as a publisher, editor, writing mentor, and ghost-writer. She now divides her time between writing her own first novel, running creative writing groups and hosting spoken word events, and carving out a little bit more time for her poetry.

Success Stories
Over the last year, tens of thousands of words have been written; stories, novels and poems finished, edited and submitted.
Two people were signed to an agent. Two big book deals with international publishers. Two pamphlets of poetry published. One writer accepted for a Master in Creative Writing… chapters completed, memoirs polished, many journals filled with reflective writing, one script edited and submitted… the list goes on.
The biggest success of all though was that everyone showed up for themselves, their own creative talent and their projects.1 attendee - £15.00
