About us
Disclaimer: this group is not a space for gen-AI writing, nor feedback on AI-generated text.
We are a collective of novelists, memoirists, poets, diarists, screenwriters, part-time scribblers, essayists and more. Some of us are beginners, some are published, others just enjoy talking shop about literature. We're all here united by our love for the written word.
This group is a support network dedicated to furthering our writing lives. From time to time, we organise workshops covering many aspects of the craft of writing. Writing together in pomodoro-sized blocks is something we regularly schedule. In the past we have also done feedback and critique workshops, prompt-writing workshops, close-reading workshops, and more. Watch this space!
We are inspired by all the varieties of writing that has been shared with us over the years and welcome all voices to participate. Most importantly, we cheer each other on and have fun in the process. Writing can be a solitary business, so why not join us and get support for your writing endeavours?
We write and hold regular writers' workshops in English.

Let's Do A Writing Exercise Together! [Point of view & Voice]
Källarbyn, Stora Nygatan 31, Stockholm, SEOn to the chapter that all of us (me) have been waiting for: point of view
For those who're new here, we're working through Ursula K. Le Guin's craft guide "Steering the Craft" one chapter at a time. This is chapter 7.
Agenda
We'll be doing parts one and two of the exercise this time. There's three, four, and more, but that's likely too much for one meetup.Part one has two subparts: both will use the third person limited POV, but will switch characters. Part two will use the detached narrator POV.
Prework
Please read the chapter (uploaded here) before the meetup. If we have the time, we'll be hearing everyone's pieces. Otherwise, we'll work with select volunteers ;) Pen and paper (or writing tablet) works best for this sort of thing, but no stress if you want to stick to laptops.
Tentative Schedule
1. Intros and we discuss the chapter (15 minutes).
2. We spend 15 minutes doing part 1a of the exercise.
3. We spend 15 minutes discussing our pieces and giving feedback. Sharing is optional.
4. We spend 15 minutes doing part 1b of the exercise.
5. We spend 15 minutes discussing our pieces and giving feedback. Sharing is optional.
6. We spent 15 minutes doing part 2 of the exercise.
7. We spend 15 minutes discussing our pieces and giving feedback. Sharing is optional.
8. If time remains, we'll reflect on the exercise and more POV work in two weeks!Notes
1. This is an English language meetup where we'll be speaking and reading English.
2. Please make sure to order something as we'll be hanging around for a while.See you there!
