Let's Do A Writing Exercise Together! [Verbs: Person & Tense]

After an easy bit of work writing without adjectives and adverbs ;), now we'll turn our attention to verbs: and modulating their person and tense.
For those who're new here, we're working through Ursula K. Le Guin's craft guide "Steering the Craft" one chapter at a time.
Agenda
We'll be doing two versions of a narrative as a two-part exercise - for round one, we'll write it all in one tense; the second time, we'll switch between tenses.
Prework
Please read the chapter (uploaded here) before the meetup.
If we have the time, we'll be hearing everyone's pieces. Otherwise, we'll work with select volunteers ;) Pen and paper (or writing tablet) works best for this sort of thing, but no stress if you want to stick to laptops.
Tentative Schedule
1. Intros and we discuss the chapter (15 minutes).
2. We spend 30 minutes doing part 1 of the exercise.
3. We spend 15-20 minutes discussing our pieces and giving feedback. Sharing is optional.
4. We spend 30 minutes doing part 2 of the exercise.
5. We spend 15-20 minutes discussing our pieces and giving feedback. Sharing is optional.
Notes
1. This is an English language meetup where we'll be speaking and reading English.
2. Please make sure to order something as we'll be hanging around for a while.
