Our first workshop in this new series will take place WEDNESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER from 7-9pm at Treadwell's Bookshop in London.
You’ll get to explore a range of ways to raise power for spellwork and magical workings, as well as making and charging your own witch bottle. This workshop is for solitary witches who want to experience what group magic feels like—so while the techniques are fully usable on your own (and you’ve likely met a few already), you’ll also get to feel the real difference when power is raised together: the shared rhythm, the sense of momentum, and that unmistakable “something is happening” spark.
As witches, we use power—energy—in everything we do. It’s the spark that fuels our magic and helps it carry. Without it, spells don’t quite take, intention can slip, and that vivid, electric awareness we look for can remain just out of reach. You know the feeling: a prickling at the back of the neck, a tingling through the nerves, that quiet certainty that magic is moving.
Being able to raise power effectively is one of the most important skills a witch can develop. There are many brilliant ways to do it, but it’s more than the right herbs, the right moon, or the right words. It’s about being able to hold power, build it, and let it gather—then shape it with intention until it’s ready to work.
In this workshop, you’ll practise the power-raising skills that can strengthen your solitary path, and you’ll step into a group setting to experience how collective energy feels when it’s truly flowing.
Note that we are asking for a fee of £10 (+booking fee) to cover Treadwell’s overheads as well as the cost of any supplies. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early as we start promptly at 7pm.
The Wytchery is an inclusive and welcoming space for solitary witches with little or no experience working with a group. We believe that magic is for everyone, and we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel free to be yourself. Our workshops are perfect for those who are new to the craft or haven't had much experience working in a group.
You're free to drop in and out as you please, and you'll get hands-on experience with all sorts of magical goodies, from raising power and working spells to creating talismans and magical tools. We're all about getting involved, whether that's through movement, crafting, or meditation. You'll meet new people, learn new skills, and have the chance to contribute to our little community.
We're not in this to make a profit – we just want to create a lovely, social space for like-minded witches to come together and learn from each other. We're always learning, and we're sure you'll find something to inspire you or to help hone your skills. We find we learn new things all the time, even after years of magical practice.
