The Art of Career Building: why so many of us are going bespoke

Whether it’s a side hustle, career change, or leaving corporate life to start your own thing, more and more of us are carving unique career paths, designed to provide purpose and fit around the lifestyle we aim to build for ourselves.

Our amazing panel will be discussing how they juggle multiple elements to their careers, the search for fulfilment, flexibility versus security, their approach to risk taking and much more.

Nthanda Manduwi (@nthandamanduwi)
Nthanda is an entrepreneur, International Development Professional (human rights & policy advocate), published author and award winning speaker.

Nthanda has worked as the Project Lead in the World Bank funded Digital Malawi - Digital Skills for All project, as operationalised by the Ntha Foundation on behalf of the Malawi Government through the Public Private Partnership Commission. Backed by her expertise in business development and digital media, Nthanda is the Founder of Bien Corporation Africa, and the Ntha Foundation. Prior to establishing her companies, she served as a Public Officer for the Malawi government. She is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship at the Malawi University of Science and Technology, and is also undertaking a graduate programme (on-the-job training), leading Knowledge and Lessons dissemination work for an IGO in New York.

Cary London
Cary London is a partner at the law firm of Shulman & Hill, PLLC, and Chair of their Civil Rights Division. He previously was the founder and Managing Partner of Cary London Law, which built from the ground, and sold to a larger firm last year.

He has handled over 5,000 civil rights cases from inception to verdict, and is considered a premier trial attorney who is one of the last “True Believers” in the civil rights context. Mr. London is a graduate of the University of Virginia and New York Law School. He has previously worked for Brooklyn Defender Services, the NYPD, Bronx District Attorney’s Office, and clerked for Supreme Court Justice Richard Lee Price. Mr. London has quickly become the “go-to” attorney for all five boroughs of New York City. He prides himself on making sure clients get the aggressive legal representation they deserve.

Taara Sajnani Das (@taarasajnani)
Taara Sajnani is a Recruiter at Google and YouTube in New York City. She is also the founder of Sajnani Brand Management, where she manages female founders looking to elevate their brands. She previously held talent roles at Snap and Goldman Sachs, and prior to that started her career in Management Consulting. She attended New York University and graduated with a degree in Psychology, Business and Management. She currently volunteers her time serving on the Board of Directors for United Women in Business, Youth Leadership Board of Vital Voices and consulting with the Sundara Innovation Fund. Mediator, Angelica Malin
An award-winning entrepreneur, podcast and event host, Angelica is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of About Time Magazine, one of the UK's leading lifestyle magazines. An ambitious young entrepreneur, Angelica also runs #SheStartedItLIVE, a festival of female empowerment.
