Here is the link to Political CHIPS. Please post your comments, Liberty Amendments book clubbers! The "survey" or "assessment" I talked about may be found on the left hand side, titled, "Take the "I Vote Pro-CHIPS Survey". Thirty One questions, check it out...

Scott Rasmussen has done a tremendous amount of polling on the growing disconnect between the American people and the Washington ruling elite.  He finds (among other things) that a plurality of Americans believe that their elected representatives care more about following their party leaders in Washington than they do about representing the constituents back home that they are theoretically representing.  He also finds that many Americans have come to believe that their elected representatives do not care what they think about the issues that they vote on.

We are in grave danger of losing government of, by and for the people and replacing it with government of, by and for the special interests.  This is NOT a partisan view.  Several books have been written recently on the growing influence of money in politics and there seems to be a growing sense on both sides of the aisle that we are losing a legacy that has been handed down to our generation at tremendous cost by our ancestors.  As several people have commented recently, the biggest political disconnect in the country may not be between liberals vs conservatives but between the Washington establishments (of BOTH political parties) and the rest of the nation.

Congress is incapable of reforming itself.  If it is going to happen, it must come from the people - average Americans who are very concerned with the overall direction of this once great nation.  Fortunately, the Framers were wise enough to envision a day when our representative form of democracy would succumb to the seductive power of tyranny.  An article V convention may be the last hope that we have to wrest control of our republican form of democracy away from the 1/10 of 1% who have hi-jacked it for their own selfish aims.
