Gamealogical Insitute & Kickstarter?

Greetings!

Well, I know that many of you are familiar with Kickstarter as there have been many fun games to come out of this crowdsourcing tool.  If you are not familiar, please see the note at the end of this announcement.

So what is the Gamealogical Institute up to with KS?

To this great and supportive group: I would like to ask that you help spread the word that in just a few days I will be starting a campaign for the children’s book “Just one more”.

This is story told in pictures and words of a little girl, Emma, at a rocky sea shore building her special shell collection.

Who is this for? Young readers, teachers, parents, nieces and nephews, etc. it will make a great Christmas present.

I am working with the local printer Rocky Heights.  The proofs are almost complete and so is the project video.  I hope to include an option for T-shirts using Edgewood Tees in Homewood.

I’ll send a new update as soon as the project posts.

Gaming connection: “Memory game” type tiles of pictures from the shore that go with the book for a stretch goal.

Also, this book should provide me with a succesful project experience that I can then build on for a couple of games projects that are on the way.

Onward,

Tony Ripley

Note: What is Kickstarter?

Say you have a new CD, game, theatre piece or other project you need help with creating, like even a book!  Well, you set up a project and project goal (ex: “with $1200 we can send the Band to the XYZ Festival”) and then set up pledge levels that each usually have rewards (ex: “for a $25 pledge you get one signed copy of the game”).  The project is only funded if the pledges meet or exceed the project goal.
