Let's Discuss... Senescence and Life Stages
Details
The Examined Life, "Let's Discuss..." session is an open discussion held regularly, usually every month.
The topic for this meetup is ''Senescence and Life Stages''.
Senescence is the condition or process of deterioration with age.
Life Stages refers to the different phases of life that all individuals pass through in a normal lifetime. These are the stages (interests, actions, behaviours) that are common and uniform throughout the human race such as infancy, childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, mid-life and old age (with all the intricacies that come with that).
The sort of discussion that may occur is fertility, muscle mass (Sarcopenia), age related health issues (and how to prevent or delay them), peak bone density, midlife crisis, career/occupation, school/education, etc, etc. The idea is to discuss wisdom/philosophy which would be useful to have (giving the details) throughout one's life (life stages) and in relation to senescence (e.g. taking care of your health, doing activities better suited for the young when you are actually young, etc, etc).
