Let's Read Philosophy... Unto This Last by John Ruskin
Details
Ruskin; not just the move from fields to factories, rural to urban, nor from common wealth to a division of labor for value creation, but a 19th century schism between the experience of existence and descriptions of existence. The question about the veracity of our understandings as expressed by us.
The Examined Life, "Let's Read Philosophy..." session is an open discussion reading group held regularly (about once month) concerning a single work of philosophy.
For each session, members read a piece of philosophy. The main request is to learn the key points from the text (which will form the basis of the discussion), with optional extra background material/depth.
This session: Unto This Last by John Ruskin
