The Examined Life, "Let's Discuss..." session is an open discussion held regularly, usually every month.

The topic for this meetup is on Communities. These are the sorts of questions to discuss:

What are communities?
What makes a good community?
What makes a bad/non/failed community?
Why have them?
Are they needed? (can you live without one?)
Can you make a fake community by making a common enemy/target?
Are they natural?
Etc

***

The format of the meetup will be:

2pm - Free flow group discussion.
3pm - Break.
3.15pm - Going around the group with optional individual uninterrupted input (about 5 minutes each).
4pm - Break.
4.15pm - Final free flow group discussion.
5pm - End of official meetup. If attendees wish they can stay and continue discussing.

Pub will close at 5pm so will need to leave then

People can use the break time to discuss the topic (or something else) with each other if they have no need/want for a break.

The Hoop & Grapes has a comfortable function room on the first floor and second floor for private discussions and events. The bar is on the ground floor.

We will be on the 1st floor.
