Society is a living being, it can be healthy and thrive, and it can get sick and die.
When society develops a pattern of creating sick individuals that harm themselves or harm their community, that society can be called a sick society.

“We are on guard against contagious diseases of the body, but we are . . .careless when it comes to the even more dangerous collective diseases of the mind.”
Carl Jung, The Earth Has a Soul

What are the signs of a sick society?

What are historical examples of a sick society?

If you haven't read the The Examined Life rules (or need a refresher), which can be found here, please do so before the meetup:

Please RSVP if you can commit to attending and change your RSVP if something comes up. Inaccurate RSVPs can keep potential attendees on the waiting list and makes it difficult to plan for room sizes and bookings.
