Let's Discuss... Education or Indoctrination
Details
People may agree that children need to learn the right things when they are young, partly because humans learn faster when they are younger. But what does it mean to teach the "right thing"?
One person might think that what he believes is right, but another might think that those beliefs will lead us to hell.
Who should teach our children, and what values?
One person might like to teach their children to follow religious values. Could that be indoctrination? What if the school teaches not to follow religious values? Could that be indoctrination?
Where are the boundaries of education or indoctrination?
