Let's Discuss... Collective identity
Details
We often share identifying values and attributes with other people and in some cases that leads to a collective identity. That could be formed through religion, sports teams or familial and racial identity, and national identity.
All throughout history, our collective identity was linked to where we are located and what we're exposed to. But nowadays, we can find ourselves able to join unique communities with people who live across the planet from us.
What are the effects of having a shared identity across the planet or no shared identifying?
Do we need a shared identity? And why?
What are the effects of having multiple shared identities in one city or a small town who oppose each other?
