πŸ“ Meeting Point: Victoria Park 🌳 Baroness Burdett-Coutts Drinking Fountain (also known as the Victoria Fountain E9 7DD).

I’ll be at the fountain to welcome early arrivals between 2:00pm and 2:30pm 😊 The picnic will be set up nearby the fountain.

Taking place the Sunday before Notting Hill Carnival 🎭, this picnic is inspired by the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival celebrating culture 🌍, community πŸ€—, togetherness πŸ’›, and diversity πŸŽ‰. Let’s come together through kindness πŸ’™, curiosity ✨, respect πŸ™, and meaningful connection ❀️🀝.

πŸ‘‹ 2:30pm to 2:50pm | Welcome & Introduction from Event Host Mutia πŸ™‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

I’ll introduce myself, share why I created this meetup, explain the vision behind it, and answer any questions before we begin.

🌍 I will further explain the purpose of the event.
🀝 Create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive space.
πŸ—£οΈ Explain the conversations will work, including speaking times (based on attendance).
πŸ‘₯ Give brief overview of the introductions and discussion format.

Everyone will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and, if they’d like, share:

  • 🌎 Their cultural background or heritage.
  • ❀️ A tradition, custom, story, or experience that’s meaningful to them.
  • 🎢 Music, clothing, language, celebrations, or anything unique about their culture.
  • 🍴 Any food, snacks, or treats they’ve brought to share (optional).
  • ✨ Anything else they’d like the group to know.

Take your time, ask questions, listen with curiosity, and enjoy learning from one another. The aim is to create meaningful conversations, celebrate our diversity, and connect through shared experiences not just through food.

We’ll round off the evening with:

  • 🧱 Giant Jenga for some fun and laughter.
  • 🀝 Casual chats, games, and making new connections.
  • πŸ“Έ Optional group photos and enjoying the rest of the picnic together.
