Langdale Lakes Walking Weekend - Bowsfell - B Grade 8.5mls -9 August 9.50am

Details
Let’s go to Langdale, Lakes District and make a weekend of it, as most who have rsvped are booked in at the national trust campsite for fri/sat nights, but anywhere you like will do if you fancy stopping over. 45ppl also joining us from my English walk group The Hillbillies, so will be a fun weekend of walks and socialising.
Feel free to just come for the Saturday or Sunday walks or join us for the weekend in this beautiful part of the lakes at the national trust campsite on rsvping to invite.
Walk will be at a nice pace with breathers along the route that has a good path and around about 8.5miles (up and back down) climb 2600ft. Meet at The Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel car park for 9.50am.
Walk-
From Lansdale campsite drive (car share if possible) to the car park at the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. We will then head off following the road to Stool End Farm at the foot of the ridge know as The Band. Once we have passed the farm, a track ahead climbs up the ridge. Crinkle Crags appear on the left and the Langdale Pikes, across the Mickleden valley, are to the right. The gradient eases off as the track goes to the right before it going left up to the col where Three Tarns are situated. These tarns offer a foreground to a fine view of the two Scafells (Scafell and Scafell Pike-) across the valley to the west.
Don't forget to bring lunch to enjoy the views.
Next begins a steepish route up rocky and rugged terrain to the north with the summit of Bowfell being the next objective. The summit, marked by a cairn, offers a fine view down the valley to the south west towards Eskdale. Stuart has offered to lead this bit as my angle recovers.
Nice treat at end of walk is a beer garden next to car park for optional drink before we head back to campsite for BBQ's and drinks and a relaxing evening in good company.
Only RSVP if your going to do this walk as numbers are limited and priority will be given to those already rsvped. Timewasters/last minute cancellations/no shows will be removed from group now.
+1's now have to be members to rsvp on understanding walk requirements.
