Details
Sunday recovery easy walk!
Let’s go to Langdale, Lakes District and make a weekend of it, as most who have rsvped are booked in at the national trust campsite for fri/sat nights, but anywhere you like will do if you fancy stopping over. 45ppl also joining us from my English walk group The Hillbillies, so will be a fun weekend of walks and socialising.
Feel free to just come for the Saturday or Sunday walks or join us for the weekend in this beautiful part of the lakes at the national trust campsite on rsvping to 1st invite.
Stuart and I will walk this Sunday walk before we all head home and campsite happy on those all packed up to park there to do walk. There are few valleys in the Lake District that offer easy walking as scenic as Great Langdale, and its compact sibling; Little Langdale. This circular walk brings in the best lower level walking offered by both Great and Little Langdales. One feature of this walk is the visibility of the Langdale Pikes, which seem to be visible for almost all of the walk.
The route allows you to explore the popular Langdale Valley without hardly any strenuous climb. Woodland trails, hillside paths and sections of the Cumbria Way lead you from the New Dungeon Ghyll to Blea Tarn, Elterwater quarry, through picturesque villages and past remote farmhouses and National Trust cottages.
NOTE - This walk starting from National Trust Stickle Ghyll car park by the New Dungeon Ghyll hotel.. Circular, low level route through the Langdale Valley, showcasing some of the best views of the Langdale Pikes. Walk about 3-4hrs with lunch break, 8 miles.
Disclaimer...Hillwalking can pose a danger of personal injury and all participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions, involvement and enjoyment. No participant is owed any formal duty of care by the group or by the walk leader.
Please make sure you have the appropriate level of fitness required for this walk, walking boots and walking clothing. No jeans or trainers allowed.
+1s have to be members to rsvp and understand walk requirements.
Timewasters, last minute cancellations and No Shows will now be removed as unfair on walkers who are blocked if a waitlist.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that their walking gear is suitable for the nature of the walk and the prevailing weather conditions (which participants are responsible for checking) and for bringing adequate food and water supplies.
