Beginner's Haiku Workshop

October 4th from 2:00-4:00 pm, Second Spring Creations is holding a Beginners Haiku Workshop at the FestiviTea Company, located at 2336 Vickers Dr Suite 130, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.

We will be reading English-language haiku currently being published in haiku journals, exploring what makes them so powerful in spite of their containing so few words!
Additionally we will play around with some different ways to increase our ability to discern sensory details - such as eating chocolate chips and listening to different music - and then describing what we observed.
Finally, we will work on writing our own haiku. This is much less intimidating than it might sound at first, and you will be prepared after all the exercises, reading and discussion that will have taken place. This is a judgment-free zone! We are all experts in our own sensory experiences and we all have so much to offer in our own voice and style!
It will be fun, friendly and festive, and of course there will be tea! Come join us - your presence will enrich the experience of reading, writing and exploring the beauty that is haiku!
