Ten Brave Seconds - Pioneer Theatre Company

Pioneer Theatre Company, 300 South 1400 East, Salt Lake City, UT, US

After taking 2025 off, we are excited to be back!

Join us at Ten Brave Seconds with Pioneer Theatre Company on Saturday, January 31st at 2:00 for the show and dinner to follow.

Mike is 16 and today is a big day. He’s been holding in a big secret for awhile, and today his secret is totally coming out. But there are two important things about secrets: (1) everybody has ‘em and (2) however scary they are, the build-up is always leading to those ten terrifying seconds in which you just . . . say it. All it takes is a little reckless courage. Mike is about to find out that it’s on the other side of the telling that all the good stuff sits waiting. Mike, his dad, his sister, his friends . . . they’re all about to step bravely into those scary and rewarding seconds, and it all happens TODAY. Ten Brave Seconds is a bight and shiny new musical that takes place from sunrise to sundown on one big day for everybody.

Note from organizer: I was lucky enough to see a reading of this last fall and it was so good. My daughter and I are super excited to be coming back to the full production. Being able to share this show with the group is one of the reasons we got things back up and running.

    Theater Enjoyment Guide:

    • Switch OFF your cell phone – Under no circumstances should you ever text, take pictures, or video during a show.
    • Savor your snacks quietly (or not at all)! If you have to unwrap cough drops or treats from intermission, please enjoy them QUIETLY to avoid disturbing others. Theaters are designed to amplify sound, so even the smallest noise can be heard far and wide.
    • Activate Silent or Theater Mode on your watch to prevent it from lighting up and diverting attention from the performance.
    • Keep conversations for intermission or after the show to preserve the ambiance for everyone.
    • Positive vibes only within the theater vicinity! It’s lovely to share constructive feedback once outside and away from the theater.
    • Dress code follows the unwritten rule of "the more you pay, the fancier you may dress," with Broadway being the delightful exception. Feel free to dress comfortably for your day's plans.

  • Scarlet Pimpernel (In Concert) - Ogden Musical Theater

Scarlet Pimpernel (In Concert) - Ogden Musical Theater

Perry's Egyptian Threater, 2415 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT, US

Join us at The Scarlet Pimpernel with Ogden Musical Theater on Saturday, February 21st at 2:00 for the show and dinner to follow.

The Scarlet Pimpernel is a swashbuckling action/adventure musical, based on Baroness Orczy’s famous 20th-century novel about the French Revolution and the battle for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. With an epic, sweeping book by Nan Knighton and a rousing and passionate score by Knighton and Frank Wildhorn, The Scarlet Pimpernel is a colorful window into 18th-century French and British history. The show’s most popular numbers include “Into The Fire,” “When I Look At You,” “You Are My Home,” “She Was There” and “I’ll Forget You.”

“A family-oriented musical that’s part boy’s adventure story, part Harlequin romance... with a light and springy step.” – The New York Times

    What Does "In-Concert" Mean?
An in-concert production presents the full musical score performed live by talented vocalists and a full orchestra, but with minimal staging, sets, and costumes. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the music and storytelling in their purest form—spotlighting the power of the performers, the orchestra, and the score itself.

  • Urinetown, The Musical - UofU Theatre (Babcock)

Urinetown, The Musical - UofU Theatre (Babcock)

Babcock Theatre, 240 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City, UT, US

Join us at Urinetown the Muscial with the University of Utah Theatre on Saturday, April 4th at 2:00 for the show and dinner to follow.

Urinetown is a smartly written musical comedy that cleverly uses references to musical theatre classics to make us consider the ridiculousness of power and greed, the establishment, the anti-establishment, politics, capitalism, and rebellion, all while laughing. The grim realities of water scarcity is part of everyday life in some parts of the world right now, and as we look globally at environmental issues, and locally at the state of the great Salt Lake, it’s not hard to imagine the farfetched circumstances of Urinetown being closer than they were when the show opened on Broadway in 2001.

    What we've arranged:

    • 2:00: Attend Urinetown the Muscial with the University of Utah Theatre at Babcock Theater (basement of Pioneer Theater) - 300 1400 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84112
