## Details

THE FULL MONTY at the Grand Theater at Salt Lake Community College.
If you've not seen this, it's based on the 1997 British Film "The Full Monty" which became an unexpected movie sensation that summer.
A bunch of unemployed steelworkers decide to raise some much needed cash by creating their own version of a 'Thunder Down Under' evening at the local pub. It's heartwarming and hilarious and I can guarantee you'll never think of Tom Jone's song "You Can Take Your Hat Off" the same way again.
I hope you can join us.
(This one has a special place in my heart as it was the first play I saw with Utah Theater Lovers back in June of 2016. I'm delighted that the Grand is doing this one again.)
We'll rendezvous for dinner afterwards at the Desert Edge Pub & Brewery which is located in Historic Trolley Square (551 S 600E, Salt Lake City)
***
What we've arranged:

  • 2:00 on Sat Sept 27 -See The Full Monty at the Grand Theater, Salt Lake Community Collete, 2575 S. State Street, Salt Lake City UT.
  • 5:00 (or after the show) Connect with fellow Theater Lovers over dinner at Desert Edge Pub and Brewery, Historic Trolley Square, 551 S 600E, Salt Lake City

Tickets and Dinner
***
AN RSVP DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A TICKET!
Please book your ticket directly from the Grand Theater website:
https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/grandtheatrecompany/7217

This is a large theater, so I expect that you would also be pretty safe to just buy a ticket when you arrive for the show if you decide to join us at the last minute.

Sitting together? If tickets are general admission then Megan, your host, will meet people in the lobby 10- 15 minutes prior to the show and will try to snag some seats together. If assigned seating, please post your seat assignment in the comment section so we can try to buy seats close to each other.

Dinner is pay your own way. We'll ask the server to bill each person individually.

How will you find us?
***
Your host Barb and/or Megan will arrive at the theater 10-15 minutes before the show starts to connect with people and say hi in the lobby. After the show, meet in the lobby real quick before heading to dinner. Someone please remind me to take a group picture!! :)
Look for Theater Lover pins to spot fellow Theater Lovers. I'll post a picture on our Facebook page so you now what they look like (basically 2 masques in silver or pewter). Interested in buying a pin? Bring $5 cash and Megan will have one available for you.

Theater Enjoyment Guide:

  • Switch OFF your cell phone – Under no circumstances should you ever text, take pictures, or video during a show.
  • Savor your snacks quietly (or not at all)! If you have to unwrap cough drops or treats from intermission, please enjoy them QUIETLY to avoid disturbing others. Theaters are designed to amplify sound, so even the smallest noise can be heard far and wide.
  • Activate Silent or Theater Mode on your watch to prevent it from lighting up and diverting attention from the performance.
  • Keep conversations for intermission or after the show to preserve the ambiance for everyone.
  • Positive vibes only within the theater vicinity! It’s lovely to share constructive feedback once outside and away from the theater.
  • Dress code follows the unwritten rule of "the more you pay, the fancier you may dress," with Broadway being the delightful exception. Feel free to dress comfortably for your day's plans.
