**Neighborhood Reading Series:** Theatre East is committed to discovering new vivid theatrical works and celebrating hidden gems. The Neighborhood Reading Series allows us to do just that. Through a laid-back setting, it promotes a fun and informal environment, providing a platform for discussion and community. Since the readings are **free and open to the** **public**, it also aids us in our dedication to the ideal that **theatre is not a luxury but should be accessible to everyone**, no matter one's economic or social status.

**Schedule:**
*Before the reading,* we'll mingle; artists & audience, alike.
At 7p, we'll start the reading.
*Following the reading,* we'll mingle some more; ideally the play sparks great thought & discussion.

**A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Romulus Linney:** An adaptation of Charles Dickens' story of Ebenezer Scrooge's journey from an embittered, ungenerous creature into a giving, caring human being at the hands of three spirits, who, one Christmas Eve, show him what life means.
