Oh wow. Our last event was awesome - so, why not do it again? We have two excellent talks coming from two more local members (details below), we have more pizza and beer, wine, soft drinks and water, and we have an atrium that is ever nearing completion (the floor finally has carpet. Well, astroturf). The talks this month are from:

• Johan Brandhorst, on Why REST is dead and what you should use instead. Johan is a Swedish-born developer working at a very exciting data startup here in Basingstoke. He plays something called Floorball. He's also a Golang fan, and he's going to tell us why he thinks REST APIs are now obsolete and what you should be developing with instead (hint: it's probably something natively supported by Go). We're.. going to enjoy the question-and-answer session on this one.

• John Children, on Writing a slackbot to annoy your colleagues. John writes his presentations in LaTeX, runs NixOS on his laptop and prefers to code in Haskell, and we like to believe that a town really has made it when it has such digital hipsters in it's midst. He's going to be showing off his progress building Slack "bots" and making them progressively less annoying and more useful for his colleagues. It's a really fun talk.

So please sign up and RSVP to come along (we need the numbers to work out how much food and drink we need, so please do RSVP), and look forward to another awesome night of food, drinks, presentations and interesting people.
