ABOUT THE FILM-MAKER
Oleksandr Stoianov is a Ukrainian contemporary artist and independent filmmaker born on 19 July 1985 in Sevastopol, Crimea. Working primarily with photography, video, and found footage, he creates experimental films and visual projects that interrogate totalitarian regimes, propaganda, repression, and war. His work often draws on archival materials to reveal the gap between official narratives and lived reality, peering into the complexities of the present through historical lenses.
